The Good Food Project by Artport

Our Earth is the only known planet in the universe to sustain life. Millions of different species coexist and have contributed to making this planet a wonderful home. However over time we humans individually and collectively have found means to generate waste way beyond our capacity to reuse or recycle it. Our water, land and air have all turned toxic due to us. Sadly the impact of this is not limited to the creators alone, it impacts everyone on the planet. Every other specie suffers because of us and us alone.

This sculptural installation is to create an experience that helps realise the importance of sustainable consumption and the criticality of waste management. To choose whether we want the next generations to live on a healthy resourceful planet or a rotting, exhausted, inhabitable one.

People of all ages were curious to see what this vintage looking apparatus was. Once they started using the drill which was over a 100 years old, it gave them a sense of how simple life was.

Curators: Lina Vincent Sunish, Anne-Marie Melster

ARTPORT_making waves launched GOOD FOOD INDIA, an international interdisciplinary incubator program featuring multi-layered projects that explore the central importance of food in human existence and that reflect the artist’s role in envisioning sustainable cultures. The initiative brings together various creative forces in urban spaces to address issues connected to food, water, and waste, and to create a platform for dialogue and collective action.
